1 in 8 Billion Official Site: How to Spot the Real Game

A viral browser game with a generic name attracts lookalikes. The check takes ten seconds: read the hostname before you play, pay or move a save.

Checked 27 October 2026 Game build v0.8.47 beta Independent guide

1 in 8 Billion went viral quickly, and the name is easy to imitate. The result is a search page full of domains that look like the game, some of which are the game and some of which are not.

The developer’s position is simple: the only official address is 1in8b.life. This page explains how to verify that, which domains the developer names as unrelated, and where this guide fits.

The ten-second check

Look at the address bar. The official hostname is exactly 1in8b.life. Not 1-in-8b.com, not 1in8b.live, not 1in8bn.com, not 1in8billion.app. If the hostname is different, you are not on the official site unless the developer has said otherwise.

The official address

The developer’s About page says:

  • the game is 1 in 8 Billion (Korean: 80억 분의 1; short: 1in8b),
  • the only official address is 1in8b.life,
  • the site is in fifteen languages,
  • the operator is Jin’s Earth,
  • the game was first released on 5 October 2026.

The official footer links to an About page, a privacy policy, terms and refunds, the 172-country table and the classroom guide. The terms page names Jin’s Earth as the operator and describes the keepsake seller. If a site uses the same visual style but does not have those pages, it is not the official site.

Which domains the developer says are unrelated

The About page names these domains as having nothing to do with the game:

  • 1in8bn.com
  • 1in8billion.app
  • 1in8b.app
  • 1in8b.live
  • 1in8b.net
  • in8b.com

The list is the developer’s own. It can change. Check the official About page for the current list before you rely on it.

This guide is at 1-in-8b.com, which is not on that list and is also not the official site. It is an independent guide. The similarity is the reason this page exists: a domain that looks like the game should say, clearly, that it is not the game.

“Not affiliated” is not the same as “fake”

A site can be an independent guide, a fan page, a clone, a SEO page or something else. The developer’s statement is about affiliation, not about the quality or legality of every site. The practical question for a player is simpler: does this page host the game, or does it send me somewhere else?

What the official game does and does not do

It does

  • Run in the browser with no download.
  • Play free from birth to death.
  • Work without an account.
  • Store lives in the browser.
  • Offer an optional $3 keepsake pass for films, albums, record books and memorials.
  • Offer a 30-day refund on the pass.
  • Provide a classroom mode for teachers.
  • Publish the 172-country table and the data sources.

It does not

  • Sell extra lives, better odds or a re-roll.
  • Require an account to play.
  • Require an app-store download.
  • Change the simulation when you pay.
  • Offer the keepsake pass in South Korea.
  • Promise a particular lifespan or outcome.

If a site offers “unlimited lives”, “premium birth”, “better countries” or a “guaranteed long life” for money, it is not following the official model.

The checklist before you play or pay

  1. Hostname: is it exactly 1in8b.life?
  2. About page: does it identify Jin’s Earth and the release date?
  3. Terms: does the footer link to terms and refunds?
  4. Price: is the core game free, with only the optional $3 keepsake?
  5. Account: does it ask you to sign up before you can be born?
  6. Payment: is the seller identified at checkout?
  7. Contact: is there a contact address on the official domain?

If the answer to any of these is wrong, stop and check the official About page before you enter payment details or move a save.

This guide’s position

This site is:

  • independent — written by players, not the developer,
  • not affiliated — no endorsement, no partnership, no revenue share,
  • not a host — the game is not embedded or mirrored here,
  • not a seller — no keepsake pass, no accounts, no payments.

We link to the official game because that is where the game is. We link to the official About, country table and teacher guide because they are the primary sources for the facts on this site. The sources page lists every source and the date it was checked.

Why this matters for a guide

A guide that pretends to be official can confuse players about where to pay, where to play and who to contact. The disclosure is not legal decoration; it is part of the product. If you ever see this guide described as the official game, the description is wrong.

If you paid a lookalike

This guide cannot recover a payment or adjudicate a dispute. The practical steps are:

  1. Keep the receipt and a screenshot of the page where you paid.
  2. Contact the payment provider or your bank and explain what happened.
  3. Report the site to the provider.
  4. Check the official Terms page to see who the real seller is.

Do not send more money to a site that is pressuring you to pay for “better odds”. The official game does not sell odds.

Why the confusion exists

The game’s name is a phrase, not a brand with a long history. It went viral in weeks. The official site has a short, memorable domain, and the clones can register variants of it faster than players can learn the difference.

The developer’s response has been to state the official address plainly and list the domains it says are unrelated. That is the best available signal. Use it.

A note on this site’s domain

1-in-8b.com is close to the game’s name. That is intentional in one sense: it is a guide about the game, and the domain should say so. It is not intentional in another: it is not trying to pass as the official site.

The disclosure is in the header of every page, the footer of every page, the About page and this page. If you are looking for the game, the link is 1in8b.life. If you are looking for a guide, you are in the right place.

Sources and check date

The official address, the list of unrelated domains, the $3 keepsake price, the 30-day refund and the South Korea exclusion are from the developer’s About page, checked 27 October 2026. The terms page is at 1in8b.life/en/terms/. Re-check before paying.

Questions about this page

What is the official 1 in 8 Billion website?

The developer says the only official address is 1in8b.life. The site is in fifteen languages and identifies Jin’s Earth as the operator. Any other domain is not the official game unless the developer says otherwise.

Is 1-in-8b.com the official site?

No. 1-in-8b.com is this independent guide. It is not affiliated with Jin’s Earth and does not host the game, sell the keepsake pass or collect accounts. The official game is at 1in8b.life.

Which lookalike domains does the developer name?

The developer’s About page names 1in8bn.com, 1in8billion.app, 1in8b.app, 1in8b.live, 1in8b.net and in8b.com as having nothing to do with the game. The list can change; check the official About page.

Does the official game charge anything?

The core game is free. The optional keepsake pass is $3, buy once, with a 30-day refund, and it is not offered in South Korea. The pass does not change the simulation. If a site charges for extra lives, better odds or a re-roll, that is not the official model.

What should I do if I paid a lookalike site?

This guide cannot recover a payment. Contact the payment provider or your bank, keep the receipt, and report the site to the provider. Check the official Terms page to see who the real seller is.

Why does this guide link to the official game?

Because the guide is about the game, and the only way to play the real thing is the official address. We link out; we do not host, mirror or sell it.
